Tyler’s Tavern: We will be holding a double elimination pool tournament. Tickets will be $15 per person to include lunch and entry to the tournament. Food will be ordered off the menu. Tentative date: March 28.
Committee: Trey (Chair), Katelyn, Juan, Michael, Patricia.
Buffalo Wild Wings: $—. We would like to do that again, we will be contacting BWW for more information on another event.
Moon Runners: We made $—.
Current funds: Just under $—-.

Trip this semester probably won’t happen. We (the officers) feel that it is best to save the funds we have raised this year and put them towards a bigger trip next spring, that way more of our expenses can be covered and less money will need to come out of pocket.

T Shirts will be ordered soon, they should be here mid-semester. There was an issue with the quality of the graphics, it is being fixed by the officers and will be resolved soon.

AIAS at NC State University does a Firm Crawl. The url below is a post on their blog about an event they did last February.

We talked last semester about George Smart coming to give a presentation.

“George Smart is Chair and Founder of the nonprofit Triangle Modernist Archive, Inc, host to North Carolina Modernist Houses (NCMH), America’s largest open digital archive for Modernist residential architecture. The son of a Raleigh architect, for years he had no interest whatsoever in architecture.
Then in 2007, late at night, something happened. He was innocently Googling late one night and his life changed forever. George created NCMH and is widely recognized for advancing North Carolina architecture through research, outreach, and advocacy. George’s passion for preservation and his demonstrated civic commitment have earned a leadership reputation in the preservation community.

George leads initiatives with community-building strategies across a diverse population of Modernist supporters. He has created an organization which is a role model for advancing preservation and raising public appreciation of Modernist design. His compelling and entertaining keynote, Mayberry Modernism, shares how North Carolina became the third largest concentration of Modernist houses in the country. He has spoken to over 65 audiences all across North Carolina and at 2014’s Modernism Week in Palm Springs.”

We may be able to sponsor a lecture series that, through AIA Triangle, provides Continuing Education credits to attending architects. Mr. Smart’s presentation could be our inaugural lecture!
To do this, we need to compile a list of learning objectives, a calendar of dates, and speakers to fill those objectives.

One of our active members, Trashanna has a softball game coming up, tickets are free for students. Feb 6th Home Versus Shaw University at 1pm. Please show up and support her! 
