Strength of a Thousand Men – Kymberly Lamm

Strength of a Thousand Men

By Kymberly Lamm

A woman with the strength of a thousand men

holds a child with a tender hand.

When its tears are falling from the strains of life,

she gives it love and hope again.

Before the sun, there she is.

To be certain of nurture for the rest.

After the sun, there she is.

To be sure of rest for the uncertain.

She has walked ten thousand miles

with the wind in her face

and still she goes on pushing, pulling,

battling life for the ones she will leave behind.

Even if her hands start to bleed

and desperation overcomes her mind

she goes on and on

with an even bigger stride.

A woman with the strength of a thousand men

holds this child with a tender hand.

When my tears fall from the strains of life,

she gives me love and hope again, and again.
