The Wave of Life
By Evan Friedman
I bob at the crest,
and sloop in the valley.
Why can’t I stand tall forever,
Why must the light be gone under the shadows,
why must the light shine so bright, I cannot see?
Each wave different among the tide,
Help me find my bearing among the sea.
Is my awareness sufficient?
I cannot do this alone.
Guide me to your heart,
Along the crests, among the valleys.
I see your light,
Please, offer me love.
