As Wake Tech’s only student literary and artistic publication, our mission is to provide a creative outlet for the students, faculty, and staff of Wake Technical Community College. At the Wake Review, we believe Wake Tech should always have a place for its creative voice. Due to the Covid-19 measures in place for the 2020-2021 academic year, the Wake Review will be on hiatus for the year. Please enjoy our previous magazines here online and stay tuned until next year when we return with another issue.
We accept content in the following categories: fiction, non-fiction, poetry, photography, and multimedia art. Short stories, essays, poems, screenplays, pictures, sketches, paintings, computer design images, videos, music–you name it, we likely accept it! There are cash prizes for the winning submissions in each category (1st place: $60, 2nd place: $30, and 3rd place: $15). If you would like to submit your own work for consideration, see our Submission Rules page for more information.
If you don’t feel like submitting your work but still want to play a role in the creation of the magazine, feel free to join us at our meetings! We also offer writing workshops for anyone interested in having their visual and/or written art reviewed by members and editors of the Wake Review. For our meeting schedule, check the Announcements and Events page. You can also check out our Facebook page by clicking the following link: https://www.facebook.com/WakeReview/
If you’re interested in seeing more of our content, digital copies of our magazine can be found in the archives and the Magazine page. Physical copies of our latest chapbook can be found scattered around the various Wake Tech campuses. If you want a physical copy but are unable to find one, please contact one of our faculty advisors.
