Missing the Metro

“Missing the Metro” by Foster Lingle

A microdose overdone overtook the onlooker.

His focus a razor which fell not on reality.

Chemicals coursed through tunnels and veins

Newly constricted by blood pressure change.

The tunnel illuminated as its train arrived

And the others began to board,

Revealing the onlooker still looking

At a blade of grass barely growing out of the metro floor.
