Perpetual Tears

By April Colins

Perpetual Tears, that’s what they are called
Tears of pain
Which I have no shame
They come to release the soul
From piercing pressure beyond our control

Perpetual Tears, that’s what they are called
Why do you continue to fall
Leaking out of my broken wall
Could it have been a deep dark memory
Locked away in an unpredictable mind
Which seemed to been forgotten with time

Perpetual Tears, that’s what they are called
When they fall, down comes the walls
To bring healing
During a time of dealing
Buried within our deep soul
There’s that hidden stronghold

Of something that can’t be explained
To mankind who thinks he reigns.

Perpetual Tears, flow, flow, flow
Don’t move so slow
I just want them to go, go, go
That it destroys every blow
Of life’s unpredictable show
